The Origin Story

In 2022, I didn’t just launch a fashion show, I lit a fuse. What started at Kroger as a one-night runway rebellion has exploded into Rock Your Beauty, a nonprofit built to dismantle toxic beauty standards, amplify self-worth, and create space for women who refuse to stay invisible.

But this movement didn’t start in 2022. It started in the late ’80s, when I was a kid swallowing diet pills to chase a lie. Back then, beauty meant rail-thin, flawless, silent. I spent years starving, shrinking, and apologizing for existing. The world told me I wasn’t enough, and I believed it.

In my 40s, I stopped chasing perfection and started claiming space. That shift didn’t just change how I viewed myself and the world, it was the beginning of Rock Your Beauty. Our runway isn’t about clothes; it’s about igniting a fire of confidence in women. Every step is a rebellion. Every glance is a dare. Every woman who owns her truth doesn’t shrink, she storms the room and roars: “I’m here. I’m enough. And I won’t contort myself to fit your broken vision of beauty!”

And now, we’re turning up the heat. This year, we’re launching the Glow Up Awards, helping underserved women in Cincinnati who’ve battled and risen, reclaim their power. These women aren’t just surviving, they’re blazing trails, and we’re here to honor every spark.

So, to the woman who feels unseen, we’re here to amplify your light until the world is blinded by your beauty. To the woman who’s been silenced, we’re here to turn up your volume and give you a runway to tell your story.
